RCS are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to work within our busy Estates Department.

Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week, 1 FTE)
Salary scale: £29,686 - £35,781 per annum

• Oversee the Conservatoire’s facilities maintenance, ensuring all areas, including staff, student, public, and back of house spaces, are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe, welcoming environment for work, learning, and visitors.
• Lead a team of Maintenance Assistants, taking a hands-on, proactive approach to day-to-day operations, repairs, and upgrades.
• Ensure the effective use of resources across both buildings, supporting the team in delivering maintenance tasks across electrical, plumbing, joinery, painting and decorating, and other trades as required.
• Work across the Conservatoire to deliver a smooth and safe student experience, responding to maintenance needs as they arise and ensuring planned works are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

• Previous managerial and practical experience in a maintenance or facilities setting.
• Ability to monitor staff, with good record-keeping skills.
• Ability to perform multi-trade skills in joinery, plumbing, electrical work, and decoration.
• Strong understanding of building systems and how they operate, with the ability to apply this knowledge across multiple disciplines.

Due to the nature of the Conservatoire opening times, some weekend, evening, and night-shift work may be required.
