What you’ll achieve:

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the functionality of our computer systems, ensuring that all software and hardware components work properly to accomplish system objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of system administration, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage complex technical environments.

Essential Duties

• System Maintenance and Monitoring
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
  • Provide 24/7 monitoring of system performance to ensure optimal operation and address any issues proactively.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of IT infrastructure.
• Software and Hardware Management
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware components.
  • Ensure all software and hardware components are updated and functioning properly.
  • Manage software licenses and hardware inventory.
• Security and Compliance
  • Implement and manage security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Develop and implement backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Manage disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting
  • Provide advanced technical support to resolve complex issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to provide seamless support.
• System Optimization and Upgrades
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Plan and implement system upgrades and enhancements that are not disruptive to the business and maintain business continuity.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.
• Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and other key metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to management on system status and projects.

Desired Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in system administration or a related role.
• In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network administration.
• VMware Expert:
• VMware Upgrades: In-depth knowledge of VMware platform upgrades and ensuring compatibility across the environment.
• VMware Provisioning: Skilled in provisioning new virtual machines and managing virtual infrastructures.
• VMware Tuning: Expert in optimizing VMware performance for stability and efficiency
• Automation & Infrastructure Management:
• Ansible: Specialized in writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation, ensuring consistent deployments and configurations across environments
• RH Satellite Patching Infrastructure:
• Experience managing and maintaining Red Hat Satellite patching systems.
• Strong understanding of security principles and practices.
• Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Server+, etc.) are a plus.
