• Providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with special educational needs, assisting them in achieving their individual learning goals
• Collaborating with teachers to implement personalised learning plans and strategies, ensuring that each student's unique needs are addressed
• Facilitating engaging and age-appropriate activities that cater to diverse learning styles, promoting active engagement and skill development
• Monitoring and documenting student progress, maintaining detailed records, and communicating effectively with teachers and parents/guardians
• Offering emotional support and guidance to students, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment that empowers them to thrive
• Assisting with the preparation and organisation of learning materials, ensuring a well-equipped and stimulating classroom environment
• Participating in professional development opportunities to stay informed about the latest best practices in SEN education

• Minimum of a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or a related field
• Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents/guardians
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional growth of SEN students
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the classroom environment
• A commitment to continuing professional development and a willingness to participate in training opportunities
• Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to enhance the learning experience
• Higher-level qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Inclusive Education
• Previous experience working in a SEN setting or school environment
• Knowledge of specific SEN strategies and interventions
• Familiarity with relevant educational policies and legislation
