From critically acclaimed dramas like The Responder, starring Martin Freeman, award winning films including Paolo Sorrentino’s Oscar nominated The Hand of God to incredible entertainment like The Rap Game, Too Hot to Handle, The Apprentice and Britain’s Got Talent, we make shows with global appeal.

Our Purpose

We aspire to tell stories that connect people around the world. To achieve this, we must have people from all backgrounds and cultures working in our teams and on our shows, and we commit to creating opportunities for talent by being inclusive in all that we do.

The Role and the team

Fremantle’s Global Insight Department plays a pivotal role in analysing performance metrics, audience behaviours, and content trends. The Data & Analytics team within this department is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s performance data infrastructure and delivering actionable insights across a wide range of business areas using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory and other tools.

We are looking for a Manager, Data & Analytics to lead our London-based team, reporting directly to the VP of Data & Analytics based in New York. This is a newly created role designed to oversee the day-to-day running of the team, mentor and line-manage analysts and engineers, lead technical initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in how we structure, process, and communicate data across Fremantle.

You will be instrumental in ensuring that the data team operates efficiently, delivers high-quality outputs, and aligns closely with both local and global business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and coaching to a growing team of data analysts, data engineers, and a data visualisation specialist
  • Oversee project delivery across data pipeline development, analytics, and dashboard/report building in Power BI
  • Work closely with the VP (based in NY) to translate strategic objectives into operational plans for the London team
  • Serve as the main point of contact for local stakeholders across departments, ensuring their data needs are met effectively and efficiently
  • Line-manage team members, conducting 1:1s, development planning, performance reviews, and supporting wellbeing
  • Coordinate and prioritise team workload to balance proactive development and reactive support tasks
  • Support data pipeline architecture, monitoring and optimisation in Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory
  • Uphold and promote best practices in data governance, quality, and documentation, in alignment with Microsoft Purview standards
  • Collaborate with other Insight and Technology teams to expand data capabilities, ensure consistency, and promote innovation (including exploration of Generative AI and automation)
  • Champion knowledge sharing and ongoing upskilling within the team, introducing new tools, methods, and processes where appropriate

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience (3–5 years minimum) in a data engineering or analytics role, ideally within a media, entertainment, or consumer-facing industry
  • Experience managing or mentoring a small team, with demonstrable people leadership and project coordination skills
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and related Azure tools
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Spark SQL, and Python for data processing and automation
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT workflows, data modelling, and structuring datasets for analytics
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and APIs across formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc)
  • Familiarity with workflow automation tools (eg, Power Automate) and/or Power Apps is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • An understanding of data governance tools (eg, Microsoft Purview) and practices
  • A passion for TV, storytelling, and how data can transform the business

Our benefits include: generous company pension, summer Fridays, birthday leave, audience tickets, hybrid working, employee assistance programme, access to free courses and training, local discounts, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, and volunteer days.
