Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high quality youth work in communities across Oldham, aiming to meet the identified needs of young people.
- Lead on planning and delivering high quality youth work for young people in a variety of settings, using a variety of youth work methods.
- Work directly with young people in the planning and delivery of projects that will challenge, stimulate and provide new learning opportunities.
- Lead delivery of universal and targeted youth work sessions within and alongside schools, community organisations and partnership agencies.
- Safeguarding and compliance: ensure all work complies with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- This role will involve working evenings, weekends and residentials as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Passion for youth work and community development.
- Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Creativity, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- Experience in delivering youth activities and support (formal or informal).
- Hold a relevant Youth / Community Work qualification or be willing to work towards a Level 2 equivalent or higher (JNC for Youth & Community Work).
- Have proven experience delivering activities, interventions, or support that promote wellbeing, resilience, and positive life choices.
- Strong relationship‑building skills, an ability to engage, motivate, and build trust with young people and families from diverse backgrounds, creating a safe and supportive environment.
Working Hours
This role will involve working evenings, weekends and residentials as required.
