Youth Development Worker - Plymouth

Location: Covering Plymouth

Salary: £14.82/hr

Duration: 8 weeks initially

Important: Due to the urgency of this role, it is essential that anyone put forward for this role has a full, current Enhanced DBS or is part of the Update Service.

The Employer

We are looking to fill the role of Youth Development Worker, within a housing environment. As well as meeting housing demand our client aims to enable local companies to recruit the workforce they need from their communities. The Role
  • Supporting young people (16‑25 years) in a Key Worker role.
  • Providing and updating action plans and risk assessments.
  • Actively offering young people in supported accommodation encouragement to achieve dreams.
  • Being part of an on site team supporting young residents with their living needs.
  • Ensuring young people are supported in developing life skills to be able to move into the community.
  • Lead and support group activities as part of our learning program, forming a sense of community and engagement.
The Candidate will need
  • To be driven to find solutions in supporting young people with a range of backgrounds.
  • An understanding of young people’s needs and interests, allowing appropriate action plans to be made.
  • A passion for providing immediate care and support for young people with safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
  • Having a resilient and flexible nature when dealing with others.
  • Being able to work under pressure while producing support plans and meeting deadlines.
  • Happy to work alone or in a team environment.
  • A positive, creative approach, with a can‑do attitude whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
  • To hold a valid driving licence.
Summary

This Youth Development Worker role is being offered on a full time, temporary basis. Working hours are up to 37 a week, hour patterns between 8am‑10pm. An enhanced DBS adult and child needs to be already held.
