Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service Volvo construction equipment across York and surrounding areas. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair machines at customer sites, ensuring maximum uptime and safety.

This field-based role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent, with experience in heavy plant, hydraulics, diesel engines, and diagnostic systems. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics and diagnostics.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on Volvo construction equipment.
• Identify faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems.
• Maintain communication with customers and update on progress.
• Complete all job documentation and ensure safety and compliance.
