Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across North and North West London. You will diagnose, service and repair Volvo construction equipment in the field, maintaining uptime and safety within your territory.

Requirements include NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or related discipline, and a full UK driving licence with willingness to travel. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or related engineering discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel when required.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment and related machinery.
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on machine status and recommended actions.
• Completing all job documentation, inspection reports, timesheets and electronic records in real time.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, housekeeping, and compliance with company policies.
