Job summary

SMT GB in Kent is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service and repair Volvo construction equipment across Kent and surrounding areas. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and keep customers informed with clear updates.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently in the field. You’ll contribute to uptime and safety while upholding SMT GB’s standards and customer‑oriented

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or related engineering discipline.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant and machinery.
Ability to diagnose faults across diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains and electrics.

Responsibilities

Service, maintain, diagnose and repair Volvo construction equipment within the designated territory.
Communicate machine status and recommended actions to customers clearly and promptly.
Complete documentation, timesheets and inspection reports accurately and in real time.
Adhere to safety standards and company policies while delivering high-quality service.
