Year 4 Teacher - Immediate Start (July 2026)

Location: Portsmouth, PO2

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Fixed Term (Until July 26)

Salary: Minimum of 150 per day - Please discuss pay with consultant

Hours: 08:00am - 16:00pm (subject to variation)

Prospero Teaching is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Portsmouth (PO2) to recruit a passionate and dedicated Year 4 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team within a well-established school community.

The Role

You will be teaching a Year 4 class of mixed-ability pupils, including children with additional needs. Planning time (PPA) will be provided, and you'll play a vital role in shaping pupils' learning and development.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that inspire curiosity and independence
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the varied needs of learners and support their progress
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that builds confidence and resilience
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to ensure every child thrives
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support pupil outcomes
  • Set high expectations for behaviour, learning, and personal growth
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching KS2 (Year 4 experience desirable)
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification is advantageous
