GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a committed Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a modern, forward-thinking school in Newham. If you are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and want to make a real difference, this could be the ideal role for you!

About the Role:

As a Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs. Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team, you will help the student access the curriculum and develop confidence, independence, and social skills. This is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact a child’s educational journey.

Responsibilities of Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Deliver 1:1 SEN support tailored to the needs of a Year 4 pupil.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track progress.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow school policies and contribute to a supportive team culture.
Requirements for Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous SEN experience and knowledge.
  • Recent school-based experience in Year 4.
  • Ability to deliver effective 1:1 SEN support.
  • Strong communication skills and good spoken and written English.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Potential to secure a permanent contract.
  • Work in a modern school environment.
