About the role

A mainstream primary school in Hackney are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching assistant to join their team on a full time basis from January 2026 - July 2026 supporting a pupil in Year 2 with ASD.

This is a great opportunity to join a strong team in a great school.

You should
  • Have experience working with primary aged children
  • Have experience working with pupils with ASD
  • Be able to work on your own initiative, being able to identify where support is needed in the classroom and with the pupil
  • Be able to work well in a team and have strong communication skills
  • Be empathetic, caring, supporting and able to support children with different levels of needs
  • Be proactive and able to adapt to the demands of a busy classroom
  • Holding a relevant qualification is desirable but not essential
About the school

The school expects all staff to work collaboratively as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively with staff and pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Year 2 Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Have a DBS on the updated service or be willing to apply for one
Salary

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
