Wrap around Care Provision Manager

We are seeking an aspirational visionary leader who wishes to take ownership and transform a wrap around care provision.

We would like to create a stimulating, enhanced offer for families which is inclusive and meets the needs of all pupils and aligns with the values of our ‘Outstanding’ school.

The manager will be responsible for running wrap around care which is run discretely from the school. The position will be accountable to the school Governance who will oversee the venture.

This is an exciting opportunity to transform and reimagine a wrap around care provision which has a large number of families who already use the provision.

With our support the manager may create a sustainable and engaging offer for children and families that not only supports their childcare needs but also enriches their school day.

The candidate requires experience both with children and in the administration and management of a setting.

Hours

Before, After School, admin time (with the possibility of extending to School Holidays over time) 23.25 hours per week.

This is currently a term‑time only, part‑time role – ideal for someone looking for consistent morning/afternoon work that fits around other daytime commitments.

Salary

Grade 5, £14,321.79 – £15,610.31 actual salary per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver a variety of engaging activities suitable for primary‑aged children.
  • Manage payments, registers, staffing, rotas and provision.
  • Provide termly reports to the Governing body which evaluate the provision.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
  • Prepare light snacks and manage the club setup and tidy‑up.
  • Encourage active play, teamwork, and positive social interactions.

Team Leadership and Management
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of wrap around care.
  • Coordinate staff rotas, supervision, and communication.
  • Lead, support and motivate a friendly team to deliver exceptional wraparound care.
  • Manage and oversee all payments received in compliance with audit.
  • Ensure consistency of standards, practice and ethos.
  • Support one another to cover sessions, absences and site responsibilities when needed.
  • Build relationships with children and families to ensure trust and respect.
Play and Activity Planning
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging activities that promote play, creativity, wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Design a varied timetable of activities which promote a wide range of interests and extra‑curricular opportunities.
  • Provide a fun, safe and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Encourage independence, teamwork and confidence through play.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming club atmosphere at all times.
Safeguarding and Compliance
  • Share responsibility as Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and statutory requirements (EYFS, Ofsted, Health & Safety, GDPR) are followed.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, accidents, First Aid and medication.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure safe environments for children and staff.
  • Share best practice and manage diverse situations across settings.
Administration and Coordination
  • Be responsible for budgets, resources and ordering.
  • Manage all payments and booking made by parents.
  • Prepare simple accounts to present to the business manager.
  • Prepare a termly report for Governors evaluating the provision.
  • Create and prepare daily registers.
  • Support recruitment, and be responsible for induction and staff training.
  • Prepare for Ofsted inspections and maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, schools and the wider community.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Playwork.
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role working with children. Ability to understand and practice Ofsted requirements for wraparound care.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and leadership skills.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
  • Experience managing or supporting childcare settings.
  • Understanding of the EYFS in a play‑based, school‑aged childcare context.
