Qualifications

  • Proven background as a workshop, mechanical or electrical engineer.
  • Experience with forklifts, plant, or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
  • LOLER or forklift qualifications would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Complete routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections.
  • Prepare machinery for hire or sale.
  • Maintain clear service records and workshop documentation.
  • Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and safe.
  • Support colleagues in parts, hire, and field service as needed.

Skills

Workshop engineering experience

Overview

We are supporting a client who is a long-established material handling business based in Runcorn, they are looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join their team. The company supplies, hires, and services a wide range of forklifts and warehouse equipment across the North West and is known for its quality service, reliability, and friendly, down-to-earth culture.

The Role

You'll work within a busy workshop, carrying out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on forklifts and related equipment. You'll handle a variety of makes and models, both diesel, LPG, and electric ensuring all machines are safe, reliable, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults on forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven background as a workshop, mechanical or electrical engineer.
  • Experience with forklifts, plant, or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • LOLER or forklift qualifications would be an advantage.
