Workshop Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Workshop Engineer to join our team in Cheddar. This role involves taking complete responsibility for repairing electrical motors, pumps, and gearboxes, as well as performing specific tasks as required by the Workshop Manager.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Undertake repairs of electric motors, pumps and gearboxes.
  • Ensure deadlines are met to align with customer expectations.
  • Overhaul a wide variety of pumps, motors and gearboxes.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and assembly of pumps and other related rotating equipment.
  • Conduct fault-finding on breakdown equipment.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety protocols.
  • Complete workshop documentation and pass to the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
  • Fill out daily timesheets.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Be available for call-out shifts or overtime as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
  • Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with electrical motors, pumps and gearboxes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with a willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
  • Good timekeeping skills are essential.
