Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Linwood is seeking a Workshop Controller to work with the Service Manager, delivering high productivity and first‑time repair quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role suits an organised, quick‑thinking individual with motor industry experience who wants to progress into management. You’ll manage a team, ensure timely service, and adhere to safety and policy standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive industry with workshop control or technician roles.
• Strong organisation and accuracy.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to meet targets.
• Ensure servicing work is carried out correctly, on time and with customer satisfaction in mind.
• Comply with company, DVSA, health & safety and manufacturer policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to deliver a seamless service.
• Schedule work to meet customer needs considering job complexity and parts availability.
• Provide estimates for servicing and repairs and set timescales.
• Record technician time accurately and produce technical reports and recommendations.
