Job summary

Arnold Clark is recruiting a Workshop Controller for our Aberdeen branch. You will work with the Service Manager to drive productivity and ensure first-time repairs meet high standards in a clean, safe workshop.

The role suits an organised, quick-thinking candidate with motor industry experience, aiming for career progression into management and a fast-paced environment that rewards efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including workshop control or technician roles.
• High levels of organisation and accuracy.
• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with customers and colleagues across departments.
• The ability to lead by example and motivate your team to achieve targets.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coaching a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices, meeting targets and business objectives.
• Ensuring servicing work is carried out correctly, on time, with customer satisfaction in mind.
• Ensuring that working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety and manufacturer policies.
• Working with colleagues and other departments to ensure a seamless service for customers.
• Scheduling work to meet customer needs, considering workshop targets, job complexity and parts availability.
• Providing estimates for servicing and repairs and setting timescales.
• Accurately recording technician time and writing technical reports and recommendations.
