A leading manufacturing firm in Mildenhall is seeking an experienced Wire Erosion Technician. You will ensure efficient machine operation while collaborating closely with management and the tool repair team. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience of programming and running both wire erosion and spark erosion machines.
  • Strong communication skills to discuss problems with all levels of personnel.
  • Attention to detail, able to work with both metric and imperial drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure machines are kept running efficiently, prioritising jobs based on production needs.
  • Liaise with senior management and colleagues for prototype conversions and fixtures.
  • Work closely with the tool repair team to prioritize production-critical tools.

Role - Wire Erosion Technician role

Location - Mildenhall, Suffolk

Working hours - Monday to Friday - Day shift - 37.5 hours

Capacity of role - Permanent position

Salary - Up to £40,000 per annum.

Our client is a leading manufacturer who is currently recruiting for a wire erosion technician, to ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing facility.

Main duties will include
  • Ensuring machines are kept running efficiently, prioritising jobs based on production needs - whether that's wire erosion or spark erosion.
  • Regular liaison with senior management and colleagues to facilitate prototype conversions and fixtures, enabling other colleagues to proceed with further machining.
  • Working closely with the tool repair team to ensure production‑critical tools are prioritised and returned promptly.
  • Reworking any incorrectly manufactured conversion parts to meet required specifications.
  • Carrying out general machine maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency.
The successful candidate will be/have
  • Disciplined, self‑motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
  • At least 5 years' experience of programming and running both wire erosion and sparking machines.
  • Attention to detail and able to work to both metric and imperial drawings.
  • Good all round engineering knowledge
