Job summary

Majestic Wine in Loughton invites applications for a Trainee Manager on a 12-month development programme to learn all store operations and leadership standards, paving the way to becoming a Store Manager. You’ll support the store team, deliver exceptional service, and drive sales through VIP customer engagement and tastings.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across merchandising, deliveries, and training, with mentorship from the Store Manager and progression through Majestic’s pathways, plus

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environments.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer.
• Ability to prioritise and solve problems under pressure.
• Self-motivated, able to work solo and in a team.
• Passion for wine with willingness to learn for WSET levels 2 & 3.
• Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with <=6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximizing sales opportunities and KPI-based plans.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to grow loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Provide a VIP concierge service, contacting customers with product updates and tastings.
• Sell the story, manage tasting counter and events with product knowledge.
• Develop wine knowledge to support WSET qualifications and selling confidence.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure compliance with policies and training.
• Participate in all day-to-day operations including deliveries and stock management.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations for efficiency.
