Job summary

Majestic Wine Milton Keynes is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager to join our UK-leading wine specialist. This 12-month development programme builds expertise in operations, service and leadership to prepare you for future Store Manager roles.

You will drive store performance, deliver outstanding customer service, and develop product knowledge towards WSET qualifications while supporting stock deliveries and training new staff. You may travel to assist nearby stores when required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
• Be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver exceptional customer experience & service to every single customer.
• You can prioritise and strategically problem solve in high pressure environments.
• Self-motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
• A can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
• Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of our business.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Wine knowledge is beneficial but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 & 3 WSET wine qualifications.
• Hold a full UK, manual transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and optimise KPI performance.
• Deliver exceptional market leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Offer VIP concierge service by proactively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
• Sell the story not the discount, sharing passion for our range and managing tasting events.
• Take ownership of wine knowledge and progress towards WSET qualifications.
• Maintain the store's appearance and upkeep, both inside and out.
• Participate in day-to-day operations including deliveries, merchandising, and calling customers to drive sales.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and mandatory training.
• Support development of junior team members and feed back to Store Manager.
