Job summary

Majestic Wine Group, the UK’s leading wine specialist, is seeking a dynamic Trainee Manager in South Manchester. This 12-month development programme covers operations, service and leadership to prepare you for a future Store Manager role.

You will travel to nearby stores, work 44 hours per week including weekends, and receive extensive in-house training. You’ll gain hands-on experience across store operations, customer service, and leadership standards with support from your Store Manager and

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer.
• Prioritise and solve problems in high-pressure environments.
• Self-motivated, able to work alone or in a team.
• Can-do attitude with passion for resolving issues.
• Adaptable and resilient to changing demands.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Wine knowledge is beneficial; willingness to learn Level 2 & 3 WSET.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence for at least 12 months with <=6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and improving KPI performance.
• Deliver market-leading customer service to drive growth through loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Offer VIP concierge service, contacting customers with product updates and tastings.
• Sell the story and wine range, manage tasting counters and events.
• Develop wine knowledge to support WSET qualifications and confident selling.
• Maintain store appearance and upkeep of internal and external areas.
• Participate in operational tasks: deliveries, merchandising, and customer outreach.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with policies and mandatory training.
• Invest in personal development with support from the Store Manager.
• Be a role model of Majestic's Ways of Working and support junior staff.
