Overview
The Wellbeing Adjustment Advisor will advise and support managers and staff to implement timely, appropriate workplace adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010 and Trust policies. Reporting to the Staff Wellbeing Manager, the role works closely with People Services, Occupational Health, EDI and Staff Side to help deliver Trust‑wide wellbeing and inclusion strategies and foster psychologically safe, inclusive workplaces.
Responsibilities
- Advise line managers and teams on supporting colleagues with health conditions, disabilities or long‑term needs, ensuring adjustments are timely, appropriate and compliant with the Equality Act 2010.
- Design and deliver workshops, training and resources that build resilience, reduce stress and promote proactive wellbeing management, encouraging regular wellbeing conversations and early identification of health issues.
- Produce and analyse data on sickness absence, wellbeing plan uptake, and adjustment effectiveness; report on trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate wellbeing and adjustment processes, review training uptake, and contribute to governance meetings with metrics and feedback.
- Keep current with disability, equality, and adjustment legislation, advising on compliance and best practices.
- Facilitate inclusive conversations across staff groups, partner with internal and external teams (e.g. Access to Work), and represent the team at organisational events.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to influence the wellbeing culture across the organisation.
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or equivalent work experience in HR, EDI, employee experience or a related field.
- Relevant training in mental health, wellbeing or inclusion (e.g. Mental Health First Aid, EDI certification) – desirable.
Experience
- Implementing wellbeing strategies and adjustments in a large organisation.
- Working with staff networks and under‑represented groups.
- Designing and delivering training and workshops.
- Project or change management experience – desirable.
- Experience in governance reporting and budget/resource tracking – desirable.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, confident influence and negotiation with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organisational skills – set objectives, manage priorities and plan forward effectively.
- Analytical ability to interpret data trends and produce accurate reports with actionable recommendations.
- Adaptability – tailor content for different audiences and use a range of techniques to deliver training and resources (in person and digitally).
- Competence in creating and managing databases and digital resource hubs.
- Excellent interpersonal, engagement and facilitation skills.
- Take the initiative, be innovative and seek opportunities to create effective change – desirable.
Knowledge
- In‑depth understanding of staff wellbeing, inclusion and equality legislation, e.g. Equality Act 2010.
- Knowledge of the NHS People Plan and EDI frameworks.
- Familiarity with Access to Work and reasonable adjustment processes.
- Good understanding of challenges faced by people with disabilities and long‑term health conditions in accessing and retaining employment.
- Up‑to‑date best practices in disability, inclusion and workplace adjustments – desirable.
Additional Essential Requirements
- Speak English to an appropriate standard – confident, accurate and with correct sentence structure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse range of people.
- Commitment to and understanding of EDI and wellbeing issues within a diverse environment.
- Able to travel independently and regularly to multiple Trust sites and community bases.

Contract Information
Fixed‑term, 12 months (funded externally until December 2026). Potential to become permanent.
Band 5 – £31,049 to £37,796 per annum, pro rata.
Working pattern: Full‑time, Part‑time, Job share and flexible working options available.
