Overview

Job Title: Well-being and Activities Coordinator

Location: Halmer Court, PE11 2EL

Salary: £12.30 per hour, a wide range of health & wellbeing benefits, employee perks, and the opportunity to develop & progress

Permanent: Part time, 20 Hours

Applicants must hold a full UK driving license and be 25 years or older for insurance purposes

The Opportunity as a Well-Being and Activities Coordinator

This role involves organising, developing and planning programs of activities and events for residents. Ensuring their needs, interests, social, religious and cultural needs are provided for. This role is pivotal in supporting and enabling people to access social networks and maintain their hobbies and interests to the best of their ability, as well as encouraging them to develop new interests. Providing meaningful engagement in a person-centred way, by creating and carrying out activities that promote residents’ physical and mental well-being whilst promoting a diverse and inclusive place to live.

Duties as a Well-Being and Activities Coordinator

To create a stimulating and varied programme of activities and social events, for residents. To work with each resident to identify their social and recreational requirements according to their likes/dislikes, abilities and personal preferences.

  • Work with our residents to produce material for our quarterly newsletters and send information to be seen on social media and shared with relatives.
  • Plan events inside and outside of the home e.g. exercise sessions, theatre productions, pet therapy etc.
  • Keep full records of all activities undertaken, review and gather feedback to assess effectiveness.
  • Manage and work within the monthly activities budget.
  • To assist in transporting any service users to appointments either using the companies’ vehicles or public transport.
What you will need
  • We are looking for a passionate and outgoing person to assist our residents to enjoy a fulfilling and meaningful life, maintaining their dignity and helping them to feel valued.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator or experience in the care sector or caring for another individual, either personally or professionally, would be beneficial, but not essential. What is essential is a friendly, imaginative and compassionate nature, a ‘we can’ attitude and an interest in older people.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
