Responsibilities

Salary: £32,000

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join a growing and friendly team at a leading UK manufacturer based in Barnsley. This is a permanent position offering structured progression, skill-based pay increases, and enhanced overtime rates.

About the Role:

As a Quality Inspector, you’ll provide quality control support across manufacturing areas, ensuring standards are met and processes run smoothly. You’ll work closely with operators and quality engineers to identify and resolve issues, implement preventative measures, and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and collect measurement data
  • Support quality assurance and implement preventative solutions
  • Assist in developing and auditing quality control procedures
  • Patrol inspections to identify non-conforming processes
  • Immediate containment of defective products

Working Hours:

Day Shift: Mon-Thu 07:30-16:30, Fri 07:30-13:30 (40 hours per week)

Experience & Skills Required:
  • Visual Weld Inspection Qualification (e.g., PCN Level 1)
  • Experience in welding/fabrication, assembly, and pressing
  • Ability to use measuring equipment (Vernier, micrometers, gauges)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

What’s on Offer:
  • Guaranteed minimum weekly bonus: £45
  • Overtime at premium rates:
    • Level A: × 1.5 per hour
    • Level B: × 2.0 per hour
  • Annual bonus (average £500)
