RSW are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join a client in Bridgend. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication in a heavy machinery. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to use various hand and power tools effectively. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for assembling components and ensuring high-quality standards in all welding tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and other welding techniques as required
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to specifications
  • Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and join materials
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to projects
  • Experience with working on recycling plant and heavy industry machinery
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

This role is Monday – Friday however you must be able to work remote and away from home at short notice. A van, phone and over night payment is offered.
