MIG Welder / Fabricator

The Best Connection Chesterfield are seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator with strong fabrication experience to produce high-quality welds on carbon steel using company weld procedures. You will work from engineering drawings to fabricate structural components, carrying out multi-run fillet welds on plate in the 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm range, ensuring all work meets stringent quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:
  • MIG welding carbon steel heavy plate, following company weld procedures at all times.
  • Producing high-quality multi-run fillet welds on 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm plate and structural sections.
  • Fabricating components from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Working with structural and heavy fabrication materials in a workshop environment.
  • Ensuring all welds comply with internal quality requirements and relevant safety standards.
Essential skills and experience:
  • Proven MIG welding experience.
  • Strong fabrication background with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce consistent, sound multi-run fillet welds.
  • High attention to detail, safe working practices, and pride in their work.

Hours and Pay Details:
  • Monday until Friday
  • 07:00 until 16:00
  • £15:00 - £15.50 DOE potential increases available with time served.
  • Overtime available.
