A heritage conservation organization is seeking a customer-focused team member for an outdoor role at Acorn Bank in Penrith. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, engaging with visitors, and promoting property events. This fixed-term position offers hourly pay and requires shifts mainly on weekends and school holidays. Applicants should have a positive attitude and be willing to learn. Reporting to Sarah Greening, Welcome Manager, you'll be part of a team of 6 working at Acorn Bank property. This role is based outdoors and will suit people who like engaging with visitors. Shifts may be whole days or late morning and lunch cover. Rotas are done in advance and a large proportion of the hours will be at weekends and school holidays. What you'll be doing day to day, you'll deliver a great all‑round customer service experience. You'll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You'll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion – no two days are the same.

Salary: £12.75 per hour. Duration: Fixed‑term contract from 26 January‑6 November 2026. Hours: 300‑500 hours over the contract, depending on candidate preference. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the contract. Shifts between 3 and 7 hours between Thursday and Monday. This includes working either Saturday or Sunday 3 out of 4 weekends.
