Job description
  • Discipline: Water Treatment Engineers/Plumbers

Our client is a highly respected water treatment company with a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK. This company currently has a vacancy for a professional and multi‑skilled Water Treatment Engineer/Plumber based in and around the Greater Manchester area. The successful candidate will be a qualified remedial plumber and will have experience in delivering water treatment/water hygiene duties in line with the ACOP L8 regulations. Applications will be considered from Oldham, Wigan, Stockport, and the surrounding areas.

Experience
  • Extensive experience working as a Water Treatment Engineer within the water treatment industry.
  • Hands‑on experience carrying out remedial plumbing to a mixed portfolio of sites.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing is advantageous.
  • Fully conversant with Health & Safety procedures/legislation and the water treatment industry.
  • Good chemical, technical and educational background.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Duties
  • Carry out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold‑water systems, boilers, cooling towers, shower heads and flushing.
  • Descale and disinfect, perform tank cleans and dosing.
  • Carry out temperature monitoring, conduct routine sampling and analyse water systems, interpret the results.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all dosing equipment as and when required.
  • Complete worksheets for work carried out appropriately.
  • Build and maintain a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.
  • Collate and provide accurate reports.
  • Visit sites as per client’s requirements.

The successful post‑holder will be versatile, flexible, have a good work ethic and be able to carry out the work effectively and within timeline and must be flexible with regards to travelling.
