Job description

Our client is a respected name within the water management industry, known for their quality range of water treatment/hygiene and legionella services. They are now recruiting for an experienced, hardworking and reliable Water Hygiene Engineer based in and around the Truro area. The successful postholder will demonstrate their experience undertaking such duties as routine temperature monitoring and water sampling as well as cleaning/chlorination on hot and cold water systems. Applications from Perranporth, St Austell, Redruth, Falmouth and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Must come from a good educational, water hygiene/legionella background.
  • Must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
  • Previous hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
  • Previous experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties will be beneficial to this role.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient IT skills, including competency using MS Office.
Responsibilities
  • Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
  • Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
  • Undertaking maintenance and installation of dosing systems.
  • Submitting accurate paperwork including reports.
  • Building and maintaining a professional working rapport with the clients.
  • Carrying out remedial plumbing work as and when required.

Overall the successful applicant will be hardworking with a good work ethic and an adaptable approach towards work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently to agreed timescales and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirements.
