Job summary

Wychavon District Council is seeking a Waste and Recycling Improvement Officer to lead initiatives aimed at improving waste management and recycling efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in the waste services sector and be capable of engaging community groups to facilitate behavioural change. Qualifications

  • Experience of working within the waste services sector.
  • Good understanding of current waste practices, legislation and behaviour change principles.
  • Significant experience of development and implementation of behaviour change, promotional, community engagement campaigns.

Responsibilities

Job description
Waste and Recycling Improvement Officer
37 Hours per week, Permanent contract (Secondment opportunity available)
£35,412-£39,152 per annum

We are a small team who, with our contractors, look after a variety of front line services: waste, recycling, street cleansing, parks, open spaces, public toilets and environmental crime.

We are looking for a proactive and personable individual with a can‑do attitude to join our team who can lead and co‑ordinate programmes and campaigns related to household waste prevention and recycling efficiency improvements and effect behavioural change.

About you
  • Experience of working within the waste services sector.
  • Good understanding of current waste practices, legislation and behaviour change principles.
  • Significant experience of development and implementation of behaviour change, promotional, community engagement campaigns, targeting/working with residents/voluntary & community sector.
  • Strong written and content creation skills across multiple platforms.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with individuals and community groups.
