Warehouse Supervisor needed!

Location : Coventry

Hours : Monday-Friday (7am-3pm or 8am-4pm)

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, fast-growing organisation within the manufacturing and distribution sector. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their operation and play a key role in driving performance, safety and efficiency across the site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring smooth day-to-day warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timely fulfilment
  • Lead and support the warehouse team, setting clear KPIs and conducting regular performance reviews
  • Implement and maintain best practices across warehouse and logistics
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, management, and suppliers
  • Ensure all Health & Safety standards, audits, risk assessments and compliance measures are consistently adhered to
  • Manage staffing levels, absences, HR matters and training requirements
  • Monitor and improve inventory control and stock accuracy, working closely with logistics
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and site maintenance scheduling
  • Complete cycle counts, inbound / outbound checks, and oversee returns processes
  • Produce operational reports on productivity, quality, and service levels
  • Identify and drive process improvements, utilising systems such as SAP or similar WMS
  • Act as first point of contact for site alarms and operational issues
Daily & Weekly Tasks
  • Complete H&S checks and maintain full compliance
  • Log HR-related matters (sickness, absences, timekeeping)
  • Conduct equipment and building maintenance checks
  • Manage daily workload, ensuring customer requirements are met
  • Oversee housekeeping across all warehouse areas
  • Ensure cycle counts, stock checks, and corrections are completed
  • Ensure returns are processed accurately and on time
  • Check all outbound orders prior to dispatch
  • Log departmental non-conformances and implement corrective actions
Person Specification
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to delegate while maintaining operational control
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, WMS)
  • Highly organised with strong planning skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead by example
Experience – Essential
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Reach & Counterbalance FLT licences
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management and best practice
  • Experience implementing process improvements
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Knowledge of SAP WMS (desired)
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage change effectively
  • Strong coordination, problem solving and time management skills
