The Supply Chain function at Boeing Sheffield, a Boeing Fabrication site that is part of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), are looking to hire an experienced Warehouse Operations Specialist.

As a Warehouse Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and finished goods within our facility. This mid‑level individual contributor brings deeper operational and logistics expertise to the warehouse team, provides informal leadership and mentoring, and coordinates complex shipping, inventory and compliance activities to support program commitments. You will be responsible for picking and issuing materials for production, managing inventory through compliance checks, and coordinating the shipping and receiving of parts and hardware.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Production support: Coordinate and execute picking/issuing to meet production schedules; prioritise and elevate high‑priority orders and shortages.
  • Inventory management: Coordinate and execute the receipt and management of Raw Material and Finished Goods inventories, including advanced compliance checks, cycle counts, reconciliation, and root‑cause corrective actions; develop and implement inventory controls and stock‑record integrity processes.
  • Shipping & receiving: Coordinate shipments; ensure packaging, labelling, documentation and handling meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Documentation & compliance: Prepare and verify shipping/receiving documentation; proactively liaise with internal trade control/compliance teams and elevate as required.
  • Quality & improvement: Inspect shipments, resolve discrepancies, drive root‑cause actions and lead small process‑improvement projects.
  • Logistics planning: Act as operational contact for complex movements; recommend transportation plans and logistics solutions.
Preferred Skills/Experience - Basic Qualifications
  • Typically 6–8 years’ relevant experience in a warehouse, logistics, or provisioning environment with progressive responsibility; candidates with 5+ years and demonstrable leadership, compliance or transport planning experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience providing informal leadership/mentorship or leading projects in a logistics environment (this is not a line management or team leader position).
  • Forklift Truck license.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills/Experience and Qualifications
  • Proficient user of SAP and/or Apriso in a logistics/warehouse environment (transactions, reporting, support for process improvements).
  • Experience with third‑party logistics provider coordination.
  • First Aid in the Workplace training.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety leadership training.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 aerospace environment.
  • Relevant professional certifications in logistics, transport or compliance.
