Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking a Ward Clerk for Doncaster on a temporary basis. The role involves meeting and greeting patients and visitors, answering calls, and data entry to track attendances outside clinic or telephone consultations.

You will maintain up-to-date location status for patients’ case notes using the tracker system, and assist with transferring case notes between hospitals. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7am–3pm with weekends optional; location includes DRI Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service and reception roles.
  • Familiar with NHS procedures and patient data handling.

Contract Type: Temporary 8 weeks minimum

What youll be responsible for:
  • To meet and greet all patients/visitors to the ward and allow access via any electronic entry system.
  • Answering the telephone promptly, taking messages/action and re-directing calls as necessary.
  • Data entry in respect of all attendances outside clinic/telephone consultations.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date location status for the patients case notes, using the tracker system, throughout the patients stay.
  • General photocopying and copying of case notes, when requested, for the transfer of patients to other hospitals.
Youll learn the following whilst working at the trust.
  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
Youll have the following skills/experience:
  • Previous experience of customer service.
  • Previous experience of working within a reception role.
