Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Ward Clerk for the Day Surgery Unit. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming, efficient reception and supporting clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will manage patient records, admissions/discharges on the EPR system, and coordinate with theatre and booking offices. Strong communication and IT skills are essential; NHS experience is desirable and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with NHS systems.
• Previous admin/reception experience desirable, NHS knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records and manage admissions/discharges on the EPR system.
• Answer telephone enquiries and liaise with theatre, booking office and other departments.
• Provide a welcoming, efficient and professional reception service for patients, relatives and visitors.
• Support the clinical team to ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the Day Surgery Unit.
