Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Ward Clerk to support the Day Stay Unit at Southend Hospital in a part-time capacity. The role focuses on delivering a professional reception, handling calls and messages, and ensuring timely information flow to clinical staff.

You will contribute to smooth day-to-day operations, maintain patient-centred communication, and support the rapid and efficient patient journey within a busy Day Surgery Unit environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide a professional and courteous reception service to patients, relatives, carers, visitors, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and appropriately in accordance with Trust telephone protocols.
• Receive, communicate, and relay messages accurately and in a timely manner to the appropriate staff member.
• Respond to routine enquiries, both face-to-face and by telephone, within agreed limits and seek assistance when required.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, colleagues, and other departments to support the delivery of patient care.
• Demonstrate a professional, compassionate, and customer-focused approach when interacting with patients and visitors.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust.
