Job summary

Focus Hotels Management Limited, operating New Bath Hotel & Spa in Matlock Bath, seeks a guest-focused team member for our Bar and Restaurant. You will deliver service to the highest standards and contribute to a welcoming guest experience.

You will follow Health & Safety and Food Hygiene procedures, assist with mise en place, and help ensure smooth front-of-house operations while maintaining excellent cleanliness and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests in the Bar and Restaurant and ensure their wellbeing.
• Prepare and service the Restaurant to high standards per Restaurant Manager specifications.
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Hygiene systems.
• Assist with running food and mise en place preparation.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness for restaurant and back of house.
• Ensure orders are taken accurately and received promptly.
• Rotate stock and manage mise en place levels.
• Report faults or defects as you see them.

Who are we
New Bath Hotel & Spa is a beautiful 54-bedroom hotel located in the heart of Matlock Bath, within the scenic Peak District National Park. The hotel stands as a testament to the area's rich history, with origins tracing back to 1745 when it began as a bathing establishment centred around a natural spring that still flows today. The hotel features a historic outdoor swimming pool known as the New Bath Hotel Lido. Established in 1934, this unique lido is supplied by mineral-rich spring water from the nearby mountainside, ensuring a natural and chemical-free swimming experience.

Role Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for serving and ensuring the wellbeing of our guests within the Bar and Restaurant. You will complete all preparation and service of the Restaurant to the highest standards and in keeping with the specifications and systems set by the Restaurant Manager to keep our service consistent. You’ll ensure that we are compliant with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene by following any systems shown to you. You’ll assist with running food and the preparation of sufficient mise en place.

• To be responsible for the service and wellbeing of our guests.
• To assist in the set up and closedown of the Restaurant.
• Ensure all orders are taken accurately and items are received in a timely manner.
• To support the team in ensuring the efficient, and effective running of the service.
• Ensure that the preparation and presentation of each section is of a high standard, and is in line with the standards set.
• Serve guests to the highest standard whilst keeping the guests expectations at the forefront of your mind.
• To keep your mise en place levels up to the required level whilst rotating stock.
• Be mindful of waste, always seek help to utilise all stock and minimise waste.
• Report any faults or defects as you see them.
• Maintain a high standard of Restaurant and back of house cleanliness and hygiene practices.
• Ensure that you are correctly dressed in your uniform.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments in the hotel.
