What you’ll do

The Senior Business Development Manager/Account Manager (Energy Sector) is accountable for identifying, leading, and closing new business opportunities within accolated Energy Sector accounts in the UK. The opportunities are the most strategic, large (typical total contract value £30m - £200m) and/or complex across the sector, the success of which is integral to our growth.

The role is focused on:

  • Working in collaboration with established Account Teams, or independent of account teams where an acquisition account, establish relationships and credibility within allocated Energy accounts, at all levels in their organisation up to Cxx, to facilitate the identification, development and closure of new business.
  • Identifying the outcomes customer is looking to achieve to generate new business pipeline opportunities.
  • Constructing winning proposals, through consultative selling techniques, that bring together a combination of Vodafone and where complimentary Partner capability.
  • Defining and executing winning sales strategies that lead to the closure of new business that leverage Vodafone’s mobile and non-mobile capabilities (IOT, Cloud, End user compute, Security, Fixed Networks, Unified Communications), including bespoke propositions with innovative commercials.
Who you are
  • The Senior Business Development Manager/Account Manager must:-
  • Be comfortable leading a client-focused, cross functional bid team
  • Be comfortable leading highly structured sourcing programmes, or dynamic, proactive and/or opaque situations
  • Be familiar with the UK energy system, organisations, regulatory environment and stakeholders, including the competitive and opportunity landscape as it relates to VodafoneThree / Vodafone Business
  • Have solid managed service / outsourcing background including technical, operational and delivery, alongside demonstrable sales experience in which you have personally led multiple complex and large (£20m - £250m) managed service/outsourcing deals – from identification, shaping, through all phases to closure including RFx and contract negations
  • Have the gravitas, approach and experience that wins trust with internal/external C-Level stakeholders, and all levels of influencers and decision makers
  • Capable to lead complex contract negotiations including front end T&Cs and back-end schedules, with support of SME, identifying creative ways to unblock complex issues and land contracts which meet the needs of customer and Vodafone Business, quickly and efficiently.
