POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, Government Relations plays a crucial role within the Legal function, specifically in the Government Relations family at BNY. This position is focused on fostering strategic relationships with government entities to advance the organization's objectives and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. By aligning with BNY's strategic pillars, this role supports the organization's mission to drive growth and innovation while upholding its principles of integrity and collaboration. The individual in this role will leverage their expertise in legal and governmental processes to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and advocate effectively for BNY's interests.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement strategies for engaging with government officials and regulatory bodies by demonstrating expertise in legislative processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to assess their impact on BNY and provide strategic advice to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government and industry to promote BNY's interests and influence policy outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of government relations strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports and briefings for senior executives, highlighting key government relations initiatives and progress.
  • Represent BNY in industry forums and government meetings to communicate the organization's position and advocate for favorable outcomes.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD or Master\'s) preferred.
EXPERIENCE

Typically 5-10 years of experience in government relations, legal affairs, or a related field.
