A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent, RCVS-accredited small animal practice, which has been established for over 100 years. With branches in Ammanford, Llandeilo, and Cross Hands, this practice offers a supportive, family-friendly environment with an experienced team and an excellent work-life balance.

Who They Are
  • A 3-branch practice with 4 vets, 5 RVNs, 1 Anaesthetic Nurse, and administrative support
  • Branches in Ammanford, Llandeilo and Cross Hands
  • A great variety of cases with experienced vets always available for support
  • Flexible shifts (9-6 for 4 days a week or part-time to suit family needs)
  • Extremely low staff turnover, with many staff members returning to the practice after leaving
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality professional veterinary services to clients and their pets
  • Develop clinical skills in alignment with the practices goals of clinical excellence
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure a high standard of care and treatment uptake
  • Work closely with partners, vets, and support staff to maintain high standards of professional service
  • Adhere to RCVS practice standards and maintain a caring, professional attitude toward both clients and team members
Who We Are Looking For
  • A vet who is enthusiastic about working with a happy, experienced team
  • Excellent communication skills, both with clients and the practice team
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues
  • There is also the possibility of joining the successful partnership in the future
  • Exceptional new graduates will also be considered
  • Emergency out-of-hours work is outsourced, with minimal inpatient care on a rota basis
  • Generous CPD allowance and support for professional fees and certificates
  • Relocation assistance and accommodation provided where necessary
  • Flexible working arrangements (2-4 day week + 1 morning branch weekend surgery every 4 weeks)
  • Family-friendly practice with a hugely experienced and supportive team

  • Salary: Up to £60k pro-rata, depending on experience
