Do you have a passion for excellent customer service and enjoy working with animals? Rowe Veterinary Group is looking for a receptionist to join our small and friendly practice in Thornbury. As a valued member of the reception team, you will be the first point of contact for pets and their owners.

The ideal candidate will be professional and efficient, with a welcoming and sympathetic manner. They should have excellent customer service skills, proficient knowledge of IT, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a love of animals.

The role

We're seeking a friendly, professional individual to join our team. Your responsibilities include greeting clients warmly, booking, cancelling, and amending appointments, handling queries via phone, email, or face-to-face, advising on preventative healthcare products, promoting Pet Healthcare Plans and pet insurance, dispensing medications and prescriptions, taking payments, cashing up, and supporting administrative duties to ensure smooth practice operations.

  • Minimum of 1 year office-based experience
  • Good education (minimum 5 GCSEs Grade C+)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Your shift pattern

This role covers 26 hours per week, working:

  • Tuesday 8 am - 2 pm
  • Wednesday 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm
  • Thursday 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm
  • Friday 8 am - 2 pm
  • One weekend every 4 weeks, working 8 hours on either Saturday or Sunday
