Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is hiring a Vehicle Technician who can gain an MOT Tester licence. We’ll support you through the qualification, with a salary uplift on successful completion.

As a Vehicle Technician you’ll service and repair vehicles, carry out diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems, and perform more complex repairs such as clutch and timing belt changes. Once qualified, you’ll conduct MOT tests to DVSA standards and join a broad benefits package with

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs and replacements.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work.
• Carry out diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Perform advanced repairs such as clutch and timing belt replacements and other complex tasks.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced and repaired to the highest standard to keep customers on the road.
