Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Motor Mechanic. You’ll service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics, clutch and timing belt replacements, and carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards when qualified.

The role offers progression toward MOT tester qualification with a salary uplift on completion. On-target earnings up to £41,240 (base £34,640 + £6,600 average bonus). Benefits include 5.6 weeks leave, discounts, health plan, pension and more.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and diagnostics.
• Perform more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards once qualified.
• Contribute to maintaining safety and quality across all vehicles.
