Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is recruiting a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in the UK. The role involves servicing, repair work and diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems. You may pursue MOT Tester qualification with a salary uplift on completion.

Initially you’ll handle maintenance tasks and progress toward MOT testing. They offer a generous OTE with base salary and uncapped bonus, plus extensive store and centre benefits to support your career growth.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs and replacements.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work on vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards after qualification.
• Undertake advanced diagnostics and complex repairs as required.
• Support maintenance and repair work to keep customers safe on the road.
