Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is looking for a Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles and work towards gaining an MOT Tester licence. On completion, a salary uplift is available. The role involves diagnosing and carrying out complex repairs alongside standard servicing.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs and replacements.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work, including complex tasks like clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards once qualified.
• Diagnose across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems and perform routine servicing.
