Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles in our busy workshop, with the opportunity to gain an MOT Tester licence.

You’ll handle complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements, carry out diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems, and, once qualified, perform MOT tests to DVSA standards with a salary uplift on completion.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs and replacements.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repairs to a high standard.
• Carry out diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards on qualification.
• Progress to MOT Tester with training and salary uplift on completion.
