Job summary

Halfords Autocentres in West Midlands is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. You will service, repair and diagnose vehicles, handling tasks from routine maintenance to complex replacements such as clutches, timing belts and electrical systems.

Ideal candidates possess a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience, plus a full driving licence with minimal points. The role offers a base salary with uncapped bonus potential and comprehensive staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience with diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work to vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics and more complex repairs (clutches, timing belts, electrical).
• Ensure safety and quality standards are met.

• Comprising a base salary of £33,000 - £36,620
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £5,800 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
