Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our Scotland centre. You will service and repair vehicles and perform diagnostics, including complex tasks like clutch and timing belt replacements.

The role offers a base salary of £33,000–£36,620 with an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,700 per year and an on-target earnings cap of £43,320. We operate five days a week with Sundays closed and provide extensive benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles including complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out diagnostics across brakes, steering, suspension, and engine systems.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills And Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
