Job summary

Halfords. Taunton Autocentres is seeking a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic to service and repair vehicles on-site. You will work on tasks from routine servicing to clutches, timing belts, and diagnostics in electrics, brakes and suspension.

Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served, plus a driving licence with up to 9 points. An opportunity to progress with hybrid training and ATA/MOT qualifications is available.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Handle tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Diagnostics in electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
