Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic in Bridgwater to join our Autocentres team. You will service, repair and replace components, and diagnose faults to keep customers safe on the road.

Join the Fusion centre with modern facilities and great career opportunities. A Level 3 in LV Maintenance or time served, plus a clean licence, are required; full training including ATA/MOT qualifications is available.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driver's licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to carry out diagnostics and complex repairs (brakes, steering/suspension, engine).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and complex tasks including clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out diagnostic work on brakes, steering/suspension and electrical systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
