Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician in London to service and repair a fleet of light and heavy commercial vehicles. You will diagnose faults with modern equipment, perform inspections and preventative maintenance, and work within a busy workshop environment.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, a full UK driving licence, and flexibility for rotating shifts. Company benefits include training, pension and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Experience as an HGV/LCV/commercial vehicle technician is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a fleet of light and heavy commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Repair trailers and associated mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to high standards.
• Use specialist workshop equipment and tooling.
• Maintain accurate job records while working in a busy workshop.

Vehicle Technician

Location: Kentish Town, London
Salary: £45,675 Basic | OTE £60,000+
Working Hours: 39.5 Hours per Week | Three-Week Rotating Shift Pattern | 1 in 3 Saturdays

Vehicle Technician Role

VehicleTechnician Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, LCV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Own tools required.
• HGV licence and trailer experience desirable but not essential.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern.
